There is something undeniably special about stepping into a new year of life with a photoshoot that perfectly captures your energy. For Yanna’s 27th birthday, we went all out with a vibrant, editorial-style studio session. Between the striking floral concepts and her radiant confidence, this shoot was an absolute dream. As a Houston birthday photographer, I always want to ensure my clients’ visions come to life in a way that feels authentic and completely unique to them.

A Vibrant Floral Vision

When planning this session, the goal was to create something truly out of the box. Yanna wore a creative dress designed to look like a stunning floral bouquet, complete with a wrapping paper-style base and a cascade of red, pink, orange, and yellow roses. This creative styling immediately set a bold, artistic vibe for the day and gave us so much to play with on set.

Playing with Studio Lighting and Bold Colors

To really make the colors pop, we utilized two distinct studio setups. We started with a vivid yellow backdrop paired with a reflective floor. The studio lighting was set to be bright but dramatic, intentionally highlighting the glowing warmth of Yanna’s skin and the rich, saturated tones of the flowers. Later, we transitioned to a soft but vibrant pink backdrop, which gave the portraits a sweet, monochromatic harmony.

What made this session so different wasn’t just the incredible wardrobe or the bright colors—it was how easily Yanna owned the camera.
